Mission Statement

The Afiya Center is an organization whose mission statement is to slow the spread of HIV/AIDS within women in the DFW area through community outreach and health education/promotion. Our target population focuses on women between the ages of 25-40 years of age within the Dallas area who are at risk for HIV.

Goal

The goal for our program is to decrease the incidence of HIV within Black women in Dallas, TX

Objectives

Process: Recruit at least 200 Black women between the ages of 25-40 years who live in Dallas, TX for education on HIV and safe sex practices, by April 1, 2022.

Impact: At least 85% of participants complete the HIV and safe sex education program, by July 1, 2022.

Outcome: Six months after the completion of the program, 70% of participants report using condoms during intercourse.

Program Work Plan

This section includes a clear description of program activities and strategies from start to finish. A programs work plan (see appendix A) is designed to ensure the overall successfulness of the evaluation and implementation process of the program. The Afiya Center program coordinators created not only the program goals and objectives but also managed the needs assessment. The Afiya Center sought out community partners to guarantee success of the program. By working together to help reduce the incidence of HIV in Black women.
