When you look at incarceration, we can all agree that our first perspective is that the individuals are learning from their mistakes and serving time for the crime that they committed. In their eyes at the time of first entering the prison they agree that they are learning what their actions got them into. The role of the courts and incarceration does help reduce offenders from recidivism in a way that they do not want to do it again. One area of focuses should be providing a behavioral therapy for inmates to seek help to understand why they are committing crimes. I believe talking to someone about your flaws and past can help you come to terms of why you are like this and what steps you should be taking to be a better individual. With many of the psychists and therapy departments lacking resources a help through the government can help with letting the individuals have someone to talk to but also get treated for what is happening.
