- 1. James Ifediata COLLAPSE
Hello Dr Brenda and greetings class,My name is James Ifediata. I am a father to my cute one-year-old boy, a husband to my lovely wife, a brother to my siblings and a son to my parents. I relocated to Canada in 2018 with my wife, my baby was born in 2020, and we have called Canada home since the day we touched down. Read more about me on my linkedin profile www.linkedin.com/in/ifediata-james and please connect with me also.I am an Area Manager with Amazon logistics, and my background is in project management, supply chain, logistics, warehousing and distribution with over eleven years of experience. Outside of work, my main passion is to see as many people enjoy their work by getting employed with their dream company and in their dream roles. I do this through active career coaching, mentorship and counselling. I have done this in the last two years as a means to helping people around me. I also love to read fiction and non-fiction novels, and when I want to unwind, I watch documentaries.I am both an Entrepreneur and an Intrapreneur (I believe I am anyway ??). I know Gary Vaynerchuk’s video says that entrepreneurs are born with innate ability. Still, my experience in life has taught me that a man can work hard to be a better version of himself (an argument supported by Gary also) (Expert of practice video, 1). Jack believes that leaders are made, not born, which makes me believe that entrepreneurs are made and not solely born with the skills.I am an Intrapreneur because I have, on many occasions, developed business initiatives and solutions at my place of work that has either led to an increase in revenue, increased efficiency and overall employee satisfaction with processes or has led to cost savings. On the other hand, I am an Entrepreneur. I wish to grow my skill-set in this area because I have started businesses and failed in them. I am currently at an advanced level of procrastination in starting a side hustle that can become a solid seven-figure business. I need this course more than anything right now ??I watched Austin Allan’s video, and one of the key things that struck me is the need to take action. Allan said this most succinctly, “do it.” Another critical factor that impressed me in the interview was his dedication to his goal, even when ridiculed. Selling soup in a bottle and serving soup cold is a concept I had never heard of before watching this video, so I can imagine how mentally resilient he was in forging ahead amid the doubters and naysayers. I love the advice he gave at the end; Stay true to your vision, especially if you are convinced of what you are proposing (Tio Gazpacho: Don’t Be Like Everyone Else, 2).I hope to learn all I can in this course to launch my business and impact lives. I also believe I will use my experiences to contribute my utmost to the success of my classmates.References:

(GFC), headquartered at Schofield, Wisconsin. We operate within the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air conditioning) manufacturing industry. I work with Manufacturing, Production, Marketing, and Sales teams and oversee the project life cycle from conception to launch.Type of Idea: EntrepreneurshipI am a 3D printing enthusiast and own two 3D printers. I intend to convert this hobby into a profit-generating business. 3D printing is an Additive Manufacturing process of building 3-dimensional objects from a computer file through a layer-by-layer material deposition. 3D printing reduces the carbon footprint on the environment while saving cost and time, allowing design flexibility according to the user’s needs.I plan to set up the business through two channels-
- On-demand 3d printed products: Convert the customer ideas to 3D products
- Ready-made (manufactured) product store: Set up a Shopify store with daily-use 3D printed products
To draft the business plan, I need to study the market demand, consumer traits and analyze the playing field (1). Some of the risks include resource management and financing (1).The takeaway from the Tio videoThe biggest takeaways from the Tio video were (2)
- Long term plan
- Believe in yourself
Long-term planning is essential for a smooth launch and early breakeven. The business strategy needs the following considerations
- Analyzing market trends and new technologies
- Analyzing consumer needs and wants
- Cost-effectiveness of the products and processes
- Analyze and communicate the “value” of the products/services to enhance customer engagement and build a moat
- Studying the competitive landscape
- Thinking sustainability
Finally, courage and determination are essential factors to get the ball rolling.References
